Joshua update

Joshua is growing and climbing and playing with kitties. We're fostering kitties at the moment. Joshua is having a great time playing with them, and also playing the piano.

Sprinkler fun

I realized that we're coming nearer and nearer to the end of Summer, and my little Joshua has never played in a sprinkler. I had to fix that right away! joshua loves the sprinkler. He'd shriek and sing every time the sprinkler hit him.

Playdate at the Fountain

Joshua was having a great time playing in the fountains, even if mommy did make him wear a silly hat to keep from getting a sunburn.

Joshua's First Camping Trip

Joshua and I went camping for a couple of nights this week. He had a blast! The only problems were getting him to go to sleep once he'd seen the bonfire, and keeping him from eating everything he saw.

Little pirate hat

Joshua was helping me with the recycling when we got caught up playing. Check out how much he looks like Sean in the last picture.

Getting into things

Joshua has a continuing love of paper bags. He's 8 months now, so he's getting to try meats, but not McDonalds. He's also pulling to stand on everything. We just replaced our stair gate with a nice sturdy metal one. He's a strong baby!

Cruising around

Joshua has just barley started cruising on the furniture. He's waving at mommy while standing at the couch here. You can really see his two tiny little teeth in the second picture.

Playing with lights

Joshua has always loved lights. His daddy bought these for him when he was less than a month old. Now he's finally old enough to play with them!

Joshua and Mommy

Gene took some pictures of Joshua and I playing in the yard. Tonight Joshua went straight to sleep on his own without fussing. Let's all pray that this becomes a habit for him.

Bag-O-Baby

With his newfound mobility, Joshua keeps getting into the recycling. He's especially fond of bags for some reason. As an update, he now pulls to standing, walks all over holding my fingers, "commando" crawls all over the house and can pick up cheerios with his thumb and pointer finger. He's started letting go of one thing while standing and grabbing for another support.

Bath Time and Lunch Time

Joshua is enjoying his lunch here. You can even see his new little teeth. He enjoyes lunch so much that he needed a bath. As you can see, it's Joshua's first bubble bath. Bubbles, apparently, are delicious. I'll just take his word for it.

Grandma's Birthday

My mom, Joshua's grandma, is having a birthday, so I thought I'd post a couple Joshua and Grandma pictures. Happy Birthday, mom!

Microsoft Baby 1.0

Shortly after Joshua was born, Microsoft sent us a lovely baby welcoming package with a rattle, blankie, duckie (the one he's eating in the last photo), and this little outfit. I just thought he looked awfully sweet asleep. He still doesn't want to go to sleep unless Mommy is with him.

Rubber Ducky, You're the one...

Joshua is taking a bath with mommy and attempting to eat his rubber ducky. He's a very silly little boy!

Going for a Ride

Joshua has just cut his first tooth. It's just barely peeking out. He's been a fusspot, but he cheered up with a ride on Mommy's shoulders.

A Bit of Nostalgia

I'd been looking everywhere for one of these stacking ring toys like the one I had as a baby. For all you children of the '70's and '80's out there I'm sure these will fill you with a sense of nostalgia. I know the rings are meant to stack, but Joshua wasted no time in using them for exactly what we all used them for...teething!! I still remember them being really tasty...I dont think I'll check to see if he still taste the same.

Up on all fours

Joshua will now hang out on all fours part of the time if you set him down that way. the other two pictures are just of him smiling at Mommy this morning.

Playing ball

Here is Joshua playing with his ball. He won't roll it back, but he loves to catch it when it's rolled to him. the other picture is Joshua with daddy. We've been working on sign language with Joshua and he seems to be trying to sign daddy on both sides. We're not sure if he knows what any of it means yet.
