Smoothies!!!

I've discovered that my kids will eat anything in smoothie form if you throw a few berries in it. Spinach? Pumpkin? Flax oil? Yes, and plain yogurt too. Here's Maia truly enjoying hers. Yes, that is smoothie in her eyebrows. Maybe it's some new sort of beauty treatment?

Using up junk and getting organized

In an effort to get Joshua's room organized and clear out some of the junk in the garage I have used up a leftover board piece, the old knobs from our bathroom vanity, leftover paint from Joshua's closet, stamps from a garage sale and some sharpies to create a set of coat hooks for Joshua's room. Hooray for packratiness!
I also turned all the old broken crayons into heart shaped multicolor crayons.
For my next trick...shelves?

A tired Birthday Girl

Princess Peep's birthday was a success. She had her tea party with family and as you can see was very very tired after the weekend was over. But Grandma and Grandpa weren't done spoiling yet! They went shopping on the way home and sent the monkeys little shirts with "ocean animals" on them. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa. They love them!

Happy Easter

Joshua did really well on the egg hunt this year. Maia found a couple too, but was mostly very, very excited that, for some reason, she had been instructed to find a pink bunny basket full of treats this morning and given a pretty new dress to wear while eating those treats. To top that off, she was then whisked off to church where there was a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and an egg that had somehow magically turned pink. I think she's still pretty confused about why all these things happened today, but very excited nonetheless!

Daddy's baby

I just liked this photo a lot. Maia doesn't usually want to hold still for long snuggles. Gene says she gives "micro-snuggles." Tonight she decided she wanted a longer daddy snuggle though and spent a while cuddling her sick daddy. Here's baby peep with her Daddy.

A very long day

It looks like Maia may have inherited Mommy and Daddy's asthma. I called the doctor Thursday because little Peep was still sounding a bit wheesy after her cold had gone away. We were rushed in, had to leave before starting the breathing treatments to go get Joshua from preschool, rushed back, spent the mid day eating lunch in the pediatrician's office while giving Maia nebulizer after nebulizer. Went home, rested for an hour and then were sent to Children's hospital. We made it home a little after bedtime and the woke my tired little Peep every 4 hours for her next albuterol treatment. Needless to say, Mommy and Peep are very tired. Fortunately Gene was able to take time off work to be with Joshua after the pediatrician. Princess Peep is into everyhing again today and feeling much more like her old self. Here is my little baby with her nebulizer mask and her very stylish hospital gown. She was such a tiny little trooper through the whole thing.

Fairy Princess

Maia got a fairy princess costume from Grandma for Christmas. Here's our little fairy princess, up and around after her 103.3 fever broke this morning!

Christmas Decorating

The kids are both as excited as they can be about all the Christmas decorations. Maia attempted to help but ended up decorating herself. Both of them are also obsessed with Santa hats. Joshua has even taken to wearing one to bed! Here are my silly Christmas babes.

Snow Days

Here is Joshua, my favorite and definitely most creative superhero. Superman wore his undies on the outside, why not on my son's head? Little Maia was having a wonderful time playing in Daddy's office, and here's our little princess enjoying her first snow.

Spiked!

Joshua gets wiggly while I'm cutting his hair, so today I added an incentive. Gel for little boys that hold still! Here is my little man experimenting with spikes. I've also added Maia attempting to put on a pair of training pants, and then Maia doing her "Who? Sweet little me?!" look after I caught her getting into big brother's drawers. Oh yes, she can get into all drawers now. Joy!

Camping

The kids and I went camping last weekend with some other mommies from ECM. The kids had so much fun! Here are my little woodland babies playing in Joshua's "fort" and tending the fire and eating all of Kay's grapes.

But...He's just a baby!

Last week we went out to buy Joshua new school shoes. The saleswoman was very nice and sized Joshua's feet and then informed me that I was in the wrong section. Joshua no longer shops in the baby/toddler section. We have to shop for him in the kid section. But, he's my baby! I was just pregnant with him a minute ago! And now,today, my little man went off to preschool. He's as pleased as can be about his new shoes too. They have flames that light up on the toes!

She knows what she wants

Today I gave Maia a bath and then dressed her in a hand-me-down pair of brother's white cotton jammies with little toys printed on them. Maia stood up, pulled a pair or red satin Chinese jammies off the shelf and insisted on wearing them instead. She just kept signing and waving them around. All right little Peep. You know what you want. My little girl has style. As soon as I put them on her she hopped up and went to play. I guess she's just not a plain cotton print kinda girl. Here's my little Peep in her new jammies. The next photo is what I found when I came back to fold the laundry. Darn! It looks like I left something orange in with the whites.

Mighty Thor

We hit the ren faire last weekend. The kids had a wonderful time. I forgot the camera, but at least we got a couple pictures on the way out. Maia was a princess, but her highness was napping when we were taking photos. Here is Lady Mommy with mighty Thor and his hammer. For the actual faire he decided to switch to his "sledge hammer" which is red, green, yellow and makes silly noises when bonked on things.

Horse Thief Lake

The kids are LOVING boating. Peep kept saying "Down!" and trying to climb over the side. They've both been trying to paddle the boat, and after the boating we all had a nice swim.

Here are the last of the most recent photos. Maia has her beloved cow in a couple of them. I like the one where she's sitting on big brother. I couldn't believe how good they were for the photos. They were both so excited!
